Back Massage

Soft Tissue Massage

Soft tissue massage is a core skill of all our physiotherapists. Our physios incoporate various techniques to release muscles, ligaments, tendons and the connective tissue that links your body from your head to your toes. Any of which may be contributing to your pain or affecting the way in which you move.

Hydrotherapy

Previously known as aquatic physiotherapy, hydrotherapy has been part of our clinic for the past 20 years.

Our hydro program consists of supervised exercises performed in the water. Swimming is not a prerequisite skill. Patients can perform each while standing in the water, holding onto the side of the pool, or using a flotation device. The water provides a safe effective method for healing injuries, restoring patient confidence, and increasing mobility.

Acupuncture

Dry Needling & Acupuncture

Countrywide uses acupuncture needles to stimulate myofascial trigger points to promote healing and relieve pain as well as specific acupuncture points when indicated. Our physiotherapists are trained to use these techniques in conjunction with a holistic treatment plain tailored for you.

Women's Health & Pelvic Floor

Research shows that pelvic floor muscle training led by a Physiotherapist trained in pelvic health can help in both the conservative management, and also pre and post surgical management of pelvic health issues. These can be issues such as bladder and bowel control, urgency or stress incontinence, gynaecological surgeries including prostate, plus pre and postnatally.

Postnatal Pelvic Health

A comprehensive pelvic health assessment by a trained Women's Health Physiotherapist is important to ensure optimal recovery after pregnancy.

This assessment could be to address specific issues such as incontinence or prolapse, or just to ensure you are " doing the right thing" and or support you in your return to an active lifestyle

Postural Retraining

Posture retraining is often required if you have been dealing with pain or reduced mobility for a long period of time and the muscles have forgotten what to do!

Here at Countrywide Physio we use various approaches to postural retraining including exercise, pilates, hydrotherapy, strapping and mirror feedback.

Exercise Therapy/Power Plate

A power plate is an unstable platform on which one can sit, stand, squat, even plank to perform exercises that stimulate your muscles and help maximise the effect of body weight exercises.

This may help improve strength, flexibility and balance and may also improve bone density. This is both a novel and useful tool to compliment any remedial or general health exercise program.

Pain Management & Education

Pain education is an important part of physiotherapy intervention. Simply by explaining what is happening within your body when you experience pain and helping you become less frightened of pain, this can assist in better pain management.
